Tough mudder preparation
This is what I have been up to for the past 3 months or more in order to prepare me for the unknown!!
Kettlecise classes every Tuesday and Thurday evening - 1 hour class twice weekly. I have been doing these for a while now actually but I moved up to an 8 kilo kettle in preparation and in order to build upper body strength.
5k run twice weekly - Generally on a Monday and Friday evening although babysitter permitting I may swap a Monday evening for a early morning run
Bootcamp Sunday morning - This was introduced for the month running up to Tough Mudder although it is something I would probably introduce 3 months or so beforehand in the future. Usually consists of a run to warm up and the some circuit training, a few burpees, pushups, squats and suicide runs. Followed by a 2 minute tyre flip (my teammates managed to get a hold of a tractor tyre weighing around 150 kilo) and we try to flip ot as many times as possible in 2 moinutes. Also we have a little play in the park at the end and try some pullups and monkey bars (something I can never do really)
This is pretty much what I did on the run up although I would have to say that in preparation for the next one I would probably aim to do the same although a 5k run one day and a 10k the other and also include another upper body workout, maybe a couple of pullup sessions a week or even just 10 minutes a day each morning.
Tough Mudder diet to follow...

Tough Mudder Day
Ok its the morning of Tough Mudder and I am waiting to be picked up by one of my team mates and taken to the Broughton Hall Estate where we will be competing a 12 mile obstacle course which promises to be filled with plenty of mud!!
I am really not as bad as I thought I would be but the idea of plunging into a skip of ice and jumping 12 feet into a muddy pond is not great at all, thiose 2 obstacles being the ''Arctic Enema'' and ''Walk the Plank'' sound horrific but we will see how I feel when I get to them.
I didn't sleep brilliantly as I'd kind of imagined anyway. I was still awake at 11pm wondering when the other half would be coming to bed from the bar but he was enjoying a few bevvies with the father in law so I ended up texting him shortly after and then he came into the room around half past, slightly tipsy and switched just about every light in the room on before quickly turning them off again.
After that I bizzarly woke and checked my phone for the time and each time it was the quarter past each hour from 1 until 5 when I decided I would get up.
I kept imagining Walking the plank and that was enough to make my stomach turn!
But anyway I couldn't face breakfast so I have had a cereal bar and a banana and I have a protein bar and another banana to have on the way with an energy drink. Not great I know but that is all I can manage.
Bye for now and I'll check in when I'm done, if I make around in one piece!!

The night before Tough Mudder! :-o
I am possibly more nervous than I have ever been in my life. The thought of childbirth was a scary thought but I think this may actually be worse! The fear of the unknown!!
I have spent most of the day on youtube watching other Tough Mudder videos and searching for last minute tips and also reserching whats best to eat the day before and the morning of.
I have actually really taken care of my diet over the past few months and although there has been an occasional pizza and more regular chocolate binge. On the whole I have treated my body fairly kindly and so I'm hoping it will thank me for it tomorrow.
I have been in the hotel this evening with my family and tucked into a gorgeous piece of Sirlon with stilton sauce and chunky chips and then finished it off with a strawberry shortcake pudding so thats not the bext but I didn't partake in a sociable glass of wine on the hope that it will help with hydration for tomorrow.
So now to bed and I just hope I sleep!

Back to school :-(
Well thats it, they've gone. Pinks officially a pre-schooler and she went off quite merrily. Blue has gone into school now as a year 2 pupil and he was mega excited to see his mates so I'm sure he's busy filling them in about what he's been up to.
Meanwhile I'm sat at my desk hoping they are enjoying themselves and ticking down to 3.30 when I can pick Blue up and then off to Nursery to Pink up too. I cant wait to get a hold of their chubby little cheeks!!

Only 1 more day left of the Summer holidays! On Wednesday morning we will be back down with a bang so tomorrow we are going to have a nice picnic and loads of cuddles and hopefully an early night so we'll start the school year off in good moods.
Blue is really excited about seeing Mrs Carr so thats really positive and I'm really hopeful that this will be a really good year for him. He's worked really hard throughout the holidays and both his reading and writing have come on so well, I'm really proud of him.
As for Pink, she is going down to the pre-school room which makes me feel sick if I'm really honest. The though of her starting school next September is enough to bring me to tears, my baby is getting so big! She actually put herself in to her car seat today and then lent over and clipped her own seatbelt!!! That is just about the only thing left that she lets me do for her and I can't believe it. I'm almost redundant!
Anyway today we went for Pinks swimming lesson and she was super confident, holding her woggle and kicking her legs she managed to get the whole way across without guidance! We then went to the library where Blue picked up his medal for the Summer reading challenge, he had a beaming grin when the guy handed it to him, bless!!!!!
The rest of the day was just chilling really and getting on with Blues Summer holiday journal to Mrs Carr and also a reading exercise we started using a really good book he received for his birthday http://www.amazon.co.uk/Write-Stuff-Creative-Writing-Boys/dp/184958334X which I think will really help him to become more excited about writing.
Once the kids had their tea (cabbage, potato and bacon) and daddy came home from work he babysitter came round and myself and Daddy went for a run. 3k which we ran most of which I was impressed with. 5 days til Tough Mudder and the nerves are starting to kick in a little now :-/

Pleasure Island birthday surprise
What a perfect day!! We woke up this morning around 7am and Blue came through to remind us it was his birthday so we went downstairs, had Blues favourite brekkie Smoked Salmon with Scrambled eggs and then Alex came round for around 8am.
After Blue opened his cards and presents, we told the children that we were going to Pleasure Island and that we would be going on some rides and maybe even a roller coaster. They were super excited and we got in the car and headed off to Cleethorpes.
We had a voucher to get in for £11 each and the 2 youngest ones didnt have to pay as it's free for 3 and under. £33 for the 5 of us didnt seem bad although I wasn't expecting there to be an awful lot there for the younger ones.
First we went on a mini boat ride round a mock sweet factory (Tinkerboos sweet adventure water ride) which was brilliant, the kids loved it and it was nice to find a ride straight away that we culd all go on together. Afterwards Blue had a go on the dodgems with Daddy which he absolutely loved!
We had a look around and the kids went on various rides and into a play area which was really good and I was suprised that everything was positioned in a way that the older children could go on rides and there were smaller rides and play ares very close by so the younger ones werem't sitting around bored. Blue had a go on the Aquasphere which was basically one of those hamster balls, big enough for him to climb in, that you could walk on water on. This was brilliant and he had great fun although he didnt do much walking in fact he didnt really move of his belly for long!
I asked Blue if he fancied going on a pink knuckle ride with mummy and he exitedly agreed so went on the razzle dazzle which was really fun, we giggled the whole way round and Hayden turned to me halfway and said ''this is the best birthday ever'' so cute!!!
We went on a few other rides and the younger 2 went on lots of tea pot style rides and mini rollercoasters and Blue went on the mine train which he thought was ace.
We then went to Fatima's fish and chip shop which was lovely and great value too! We bought 4 x sausage and chips as the younget 2 shared and there was plenty for £3.50ish so that was excellent as i was half expecting the food and drink to eb expensive once we got in. It was only 60p for a captisun which I thought was really good as its more ezpensive at the local spar!
Anyway after a cracking day we came home and had tea with Gangang and Chrissy and Blue got to open a few more presents before bed time. Before bed though which ended up being really late and the kids finally headed up around 9.30 I realised how quickly the dark night were coming in, only 3 weeks ago me and daddy would be enjoying tea and a glass of wine in the garden after 9pm and the sun would still be out. Tonight at 9.15 Blue laid on the lawn watching the stars and it was pitch black!! How bizzare, this can only mean one thing... the Summers coming to an end and it will be back to school vry soon which makes me feel sad but then also the thought of cost evenings in and the approach to Christmas makes me feel quite sparky and happy.
So I go to bed now as a mummy of a 3 and 6 year old!! How come 6 sounds so much older than 5? :-(

Movie night for Blue's birthday
Tonight we had a movie night for Blue's 6th Birthday, he actually turns 6 tomorrow but as it was half price pizzas at the pizza shop and its only Tuesday- Thursday we decided to make it a Thursday night movie night.
It got to the last day of term and despite asking Blue numerous times whether he wanted a party and him declining, he decided the night before the last day of the school year that actually he would quite like a few of his school friends round to watch a film. So I printed some movie tickets out the night before and sent them in the book bag and reminded him to pass them out during the day. When he came home that evening sure enough they were still in his book bag so I spent the first day of the holidays trying to locae each of the parents to invite his friends!
So 6 friends quickly became 12 when he added a couple extra from his swimming class and then a few more from football lessons too!
It was all very last minute as we had a visit from Blues auntie and cousin and we had been to the park and out for some lunch so we finally came home at 3pm and our guests were due to arrive at 4. We hadnt put any balloons or decorations up, bought any party bags or sorted a cake! We also had to get Pink and Blue washed and ready to greet the guests and so we were cutting it very fine!
We managed to find a film he wanted to watch and downloaded it and then bought some popcorn and fruit shoots. We ordered some half price pizzas and away we went. Blue had an amazing time eating pizza with his mates and they even managed to watch a total of 30 minutes of the film before demoloshing the fancy dress cabinet and off they went wrestling in the garden, boys will be boys so we let them run off some steam before we gave them icecream and packed them off to their parents 3 hours later armed with a gigantic lolly as it was all I could find rather than party bags at short notice!
I was particularly impressed with Blues cake, as we didnt want to fill them up with too much sweet junk whilst they were here as they would be having popcorn and icecream I very quickly made a movie themed cake. I started by turning my fruit bowl upside down and sticking the bags of butterkist popcorn around the sides, I then made a secod layer by stacking the fruitshoots on top and then positioned the dvd on the top and then placed a few of the lollies that would be take home gifts around to make it a bit more pretty. I stuck 6 of the candles onto some ribena cartons and placed them around too so it looked quite good and he still got the effect and to blow out his candles.
Thats it now, he's in bed tucked up and were hoping to take him to Pleasure Island tomorrow for his birthday so that will be a nice surprise.

Lensvillage has sponsored me three pairs of lenses to review!
Life Span : 1 Year
Diameter : 16.5mm
BC : 8.6mm
Water Content : 38-42%
I absolutely adore these lenses! They are so comfortable and natural looking! I am super happy with this pair!
Comfort:
 ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤/5
This is the most comfortable pair out of the three by far! I can wear them all day and no irritation at all! I am so impressed!
Design:
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤/5
I really like the design. It looks quite natural and make the eyes look very watery. I was actually hoping that these lenses will make my eye colour look as light as the promo pictures but I think that can only be achieved under bright lighting.
Enlargement:

I like the enlargement effect!
Life Span : 1 Year
Diameter : 14.5mm
BC : 8.6mm
Origin: South Korea

The first time I wore these lenses they weren't very comfortable. My eyes felt dry and I had to constantly use eyedrops. The next couple times I wore these lenses, they weren't as bad.
Design:

I have been wanting to try these lenses for a long time because Leah Dizon makes them look really good! Unfortunately, they look very normal and natural on the eyes.
Enlargement:

At 14.5mm, it is one of the smaller, natural sized lenses on the market
Life Span : 1 Year
Diameter : 15mm
BC : 8.7mm
Manufacturer: Geo Medical
Comfort:

I don't know if it is because I received a faulty pair of lenses or what, but one of the lenses was so uncomfortable! I could only wear these lenses for around one hour to take these photos and when I took them off, one of my eyes was very uncomfortable and red! I found this very strange because I have had no problem with all the other Princess Mimi lenses and they are actually the brand I use the most!
Design:

Natural looking brown lenses. A lighter brown version of the chocolate coloured version.

The enlargement effect is quite nice, a very good size for lenses

Schools out for Summer!!!
It's that time of the year and it's second only to Christmas in the Money household.... Summer holidays!!
The excitement has been building for the past couple of weeks and I intend to soak up every moment. This year the Summer holidays will not fly by in the blink of an eye as I am going to milk it for all its worth.
It's a new start so here goes. Summer Holiday Resolutions.....
No more nagging Mummy!
That's right I am on a mission. No more complaining about keeping the living room tidy, no more pestering to put away their toys, goodbye to all that and I intend on keeping everything positive and full of praise.
Planning is Key
I am going to be mega organised this year. I will print out a 'school holiday calendar' work out where the kids will be at all times when I'm working and plan lots of exciting things inbetween. Meals for the 6 weeks will be organised in advance, saving unnecessary trips to the supermarket (this will help with my first resolution). Money will be budgeted so that we can afford days out at the end of August rather than splashing out the first week and then sitting at home from the second week. We will also make time for learning, just because its the Summer holidays it doesn't mean in our home that the books and pens are packed away for 6 weeks. It's an opportunity to learn from our children, they dont have homework these holidays and so we can follow their lead and encourage them to learn about things that they may not necessarily be taught at school or nursery.
Last but not least I will focus on the important things
It doesn't matter that we couldn't afford a luxurious family holiday or that the kids aren't booked onto the best holiday camps. Although we will plan to go to places where the children like to visit and a few new places, they have just as much fun picking berries and making pies from them, having water fights in the garden and visiting the local park for a picnic. We intend on having as much fun as we possibly can, albeit on a shoestring!

Tough Mudder.... really?!!!
Ok so it's booked and paid for and I have just over 3 months to train. September 7th Yorkshire Tough mudder and to say i'm nervous would be the understatement of the year, i am actually cacking myself!!
3 years ago i was more that 3 stone heavier than I am now and I was totally unfit having never ran or exercised particularly infact I spent most pe sessions at school finding an excuse not to take part in any of the running.
After joining Slimming world in 2011 I set my target at 3 stone less than my initial weigh in at 12 stone and 9 pounds and it took just under 6 months to reach my goal.
I became more interested in exercising and would regularly go to the gym and to kettlecise classes twice weekly and ran at least once a week.
I cut down the amount of rubbish I was eating and increased the amount of Seafood and Fish and found my energy levels went through the roof. Although I had always enjoyed cooking and spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking all of our meals from scratch and ensuring that our children ate nutritious and healthy food, we tended to opt for creamy dishes which were much more calorific.
Now here I am a bit thinner and a bit fitter but I really do not know if i am up to this at all!! In fact i have no idea hiow I managed to sign up for it. I think it started out as a joke when a colleague had been asked by his partner to sign up and he was having none of it. After he told me about it he asked if I would sign up, ''no way'' was my answer and then after further questioning i responded ''Well I'll do it when you do!'' The very second the words came out of my mouth I immediately regretted them and in looking back I now realise that he was probably not as reluctant as I thought, cheeky little bugger!!
So that's it now plenty of Salmon and spinach and protein packed meals for the next 3 months and plenty of tough mudder training!
